Stop misleading the public, DPP tells critics Llewellyn says 40-odd cases referred to her office are not corruption matters

A lightly edited text of Director of Public Prosecutions Paula Llewellyn’s response to allegations made in recent days that her office has failed to prosecute 40 referrals of acts of corruption from the Office of the Contractor General. 

Recently, complaints have surfaced in the media concerning the ODPP’s failure to prosecute some 40 referrals that were sent by the OCG. These referrals were forwarded to the ODPP during the tenure of the former contractor general, Mr Greg Christie, who submitted official reports to Parliament and issued public statements mischaracterising the nature of these referrals and criticising the posture of the ODPP in its decision not to prosecute these matters.
